Shep Freeman convicted and transported to Australia for stealing a watch. He arrives to Australia’s shores on ‘The Scarborough’ with 207 other male convicts. Life is hard the first few years of Shep’s term, however he soon earns a reputation as a hard worker and well liked among the free settlers.
Marianne arrives with the First Fleet, on the ship ‘The Lady Penrhyn’. Marianne and her friend Elizabeth Rolls are indicted for stealing five pair of silk stockings. She is commissioned to Joseph Carter, who tries to rape her. Shep steps in to save the young girl.
